Living in Toronto I thrive on taking part in, photographing and writing about urban food growing. Read my inaugural post to explore some examples and find out more.

My published works include a chapter in Wild Fire: Art as Activism, edited by Professor Deborah Barndt, and numerous articles on landscapes, food, and art - most recently an article entitled, "Landscaping for Healthy Cities" for the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition.

Trained as a landscape architect, I currently work in the field of ecological landscapes at a local conservation authority.

My education includes:

PhD Student, University of Guelph, 2012 - present - Sustainable Urban Agriculture and Rural Connections

Master of Landscape Architecture, University of Toronto, 2006 – Ecological Infrastructure

Master of Environmental Studies, York University, 2003 – Urban Food Growing and Interventionist Art

BA Honours Philosophy, University of Waterloo, 1998 – Multiculturalism and Ethics

Guest appearances on this blog will include local agriculturalists, gardeners, travellers and educators. If you are interested in making a post to this blog, send me an email: gardenthecity@gmail.com
